ATEX Vacuum Lifter for Door Elements

In autumn 2025, FEZER developed a custom ATEX-certified vacuum lifter with an integrated 180° turning function for a customer. The system was specifically designed for the safe lifting and turning of door elements in explosive atmospheres (ATEX zones).

The focus of the development was to combine high functionality with strict ATEX safety requirements. The ATEX vacuum lifting device meets all relevant safety regulations for use in hazardous environments, while enabling precise and ergonomic material handling in industrial production processes.

The system allows controlled rotation of door elements up to 180°, enabling components to be turned directly within the workflow and processed further. The vacuum lifting technology protects sensitive surfaces and significantly reduces physical strain on operators. Especially when handling large or heavy door components, the system supports stable processes and safe material handling.

A key feature of the system is its fully pneumatic design. Both vacuum generation and the turning mechanism operate exclusively with compressed air. By eliminating electrical components, the ATEX vacuum lifter is ideally suited for use in explosion-proof environments. At the same time, the robust construction ensures reliable and low-maintenance operation.

With this project, FEZER created a custom vacuum lifting solution for safe lifting and turning of door elements in ATEX environments. It demonstrates how engineered vacuum lifting systems can improve safety, ergonomics and efficiency in industrial production.
